The Velodyne CHT12 is the definition of bass - room feeling, bone rattling bass. Now that is great, but is that all that it does.... not at all. A few features of the Velodyne CHT 12 - - 170RMS (I misspoke in the video portion when I said 180) and 400 watt of peak power. This is enough power to be very effective with the 12" woofer. - Deep bass response - I have never found any song that the CHT12 could not handle. While it does not go *all-the-way* to 20Hz it doesn't miss by much. It is listed as 25Hz, but it is effective all the way down into the low 30'sHz. -Plenty of crossover options, both direct and indirect - The ability to run two speakers directly out of the subwoofer. - For use in an entertainment center... it is fantastic. Not only does the CHT12 reproduce the frequencies needed, but it has the ability to move enough air to make you actually feel the sound. It is hard to explain, but if you watch a movie that features a helicopter... people in the room will begin to duck! - General music - you may need to turn some of the volume down on the unit or everything will have a tendency to seem a little boomy. Final Verdict - A great subwoofer for audiophile and entry level users - buy with confidence! There are tons of options for Speakers - see some of my other speaker below! Everybody seems to like speakers. I personally obsess about them. Maybe there are speakers better than mine. If so, I have to find them. But what about outdoors? Nobody seems to take into consideration good sound when you're in your backyard grilling or throwing a Super Bowl party. Well we do... well, I do... and when it came time to review the Boston Acoustics Voyager 7 speakers - I had just the spot. Up until these I had been running planter speakers - those are speakers that are cleverly hidden underneath a planter. Great product - different review. I decided to upload this video to give people an idea of how powerful these speakers are, i couldnt find anything at all on YouTube when i was looking into surround sound systems so hopefully people will find it useful. I guess the main reason why there arent any video reviews is because people are still sat in front of their tvs enjoying them & havent got around to saying how great they are! I bought these speakers & sub woofer along with a Sony STRDH810 amp a few months ago & ive been caning the blurays since i installed them! If buying these speakers you need to makes sure that you also remember to buy suitable strand speaker cable as well as a sub woofer cable, just dont get speaker cable that has too many strands to it because i really struggled threading the ends through the postive & negative copper connections on the speakers. The cable was too thick to thread through the speaker stands that i bought. Extra stuff i required: 25m of Quality 2 x 2.5mm 322 Strand Loud Speaker Cable - (Outside Dimensions of Cable: 7.5mm x 3.6mm) This cable was a bit too thick in my opinion so try to get one with less strands to it. Fisual Subwoofer Cable - 3m - Pro Install Series B-Tech Pair of Black Speaker Stands with Metal Base The instructions for the speakers were easy to follow, the most faffy part was trimming the of speaker wire to the correct lengths & feeding the trimmed ends through the positive & negative holes at the back of the speakers. The copper bits are spring loaded ...
