The Velodyne CHT12 is the definition of bass - room feeling, bone rattling bass. Now that is great, but is that all that it does.... not at all. A few features of the Velodyne CHT 12 - - 170RMS (I misspoke in the video portion when I said 180) and 400 watt of peak power. This is enough power to be very effective with the 12" woofer. - Deep bass response - I have never found any song that the CHT12 could not handle. While it does not go *all-the-way* to 20Hz it doesn't miss by much. It is listed as 25Hz, but it is effective all the way down into the low 30'sHz. -Plenty of crossover options, both direct and indirect - The ability to run two speakers directly out of the subwoofer. - For use in an entertainment center... it is fantastic. Not only does the CHT12 reproduce the frequencies needed, but it has the ability to move enough air to make you actually feel the sound. It is hard to explain, but if you watch a movie that features a helicopter... people in the room will begin to duck! - General music - you may need to turn some of the volume down on the unit or everything will have a tendency to seem a little boomy. Editor in Chief Doug Schnitzspahn and yours truly, Senior Editor Cameron Martindell, took a trip to Utah to jump into The Black Hole of White Canyon. A five-mile stretch of barely flowing river with some really deep spots. With us were Cory Lowe of Backbone Media and Filmmaker Dan Ransom who just premiered his film "Last Of The Great Unknown" (www.lastofthegreatunknown.com at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Cory brought the Sylvan Sport Go, a compact camping trailer that was easy to tow and set up. We talked to Dan about his film, with Cory about the trailer and I share some canyoning video from my recent trip to Switzerland. We also tested some other gear, talked shop and had a blast. White Canyon is a great adventure and is easily done over a weekend from Denver. Audio is a little tricky in water and canyons, so turn your speakers up and listen close. It's the first edition of Elevation Outdoors Television.

The sunburst on the deck railing system is of original design. With a deck 12' above the ground, it was imperative to minimize any movement; additional bracing was installed to ensure stability. Indoor stereo system was wired to exterior speakers to supply outdoor music.

The cabinet is sealed. All of this cost about 7 bucks.

Unfortunately, its sound performance cannot match its uber-attractive looks. Notes- Sound Quality - The SC-MC07 has a nice overall sound. It has a relatively flat performance across the listening frequencies. As you would imagine from a speaker of this size it lacks bass response. Sound Volume - Easily the most disappointing aspect - the SC-MC07 offers less sound volume the Poid bluetooth speaker, and it offers much less sound volume than the Monster iClarity HD. This is unfortunate because the Panasonic SC-M07 is on the higher end on the price range. You can hear the differences on the video portion of this review. Rechargeable Batteries - The Panasonic SC-MC07 does not, inexplicably, offer rechargeable batteries. Again, both the Poid and Monster iClarity HD are fully rechargeable. The Panasonic SC-MC07 will accept 2 AA batteries, so it can be untethered from an USB power source. Here is another sample of the Children Health & Fitness Program I created, developed, and implement in my community. It is a program series I deliver every Saturday at the local children's recreation center in my neighborhood. It is a 3 hour course that brings in guest speakers from the community once a month to speak to the kids about different issues relating to health and fitness. The remaining weekends throughout the month we focus on what the kids learned from the last months' guests. All the children get prizes at the end of each class for participating. This is a 12 month program. I provide 2 internships per semester worth 2 college credits for NMU Health & Fitness students and in the summer for 2 outdoor recreation students. The kids love the fun and games as well as the guests. The entirety of the program is funded solely by me... I am however in search of supporters from the community to help out with expenses but until then I pay for all materials and prizes used. The program is free for children and their families...
