The Velodyne CHT12 is the definition of bass - room feeling, bone rattling bass. Now that is great, but is that all that it does.... not at all. A few features of the Velodyne CHT 12 - - 170RMS (I misspoke in the video portion when I said 180) and 400 watt of peak power. This is enough power to be very effective with the 12" woofer. - Deep bass response - I have never found any song that the CHT12 could not handle. While it does not go *all-the-way* to 20Hz it doesn't miss by much. It is listed as 25Hz, but it is effective all the way down into the low 30'sHz. -Plenty of crossover options, both direct and indirect - The ability to run two speakers directly out of the subwoofer. - For use in an entertainment center... it is fantastic. Not only does the CHT12 reproduce the frequencies needed, but it has the ability to move enough air to make you actually feel the sound. It is hard to explain, but if you watch a movie that features a helicopter... people in the room will begin to duck! - General music - you may need to turn some of the volume down on the unit or everything will have a tendency to seem a little boomy.
